We need someone with experience in editing, preferably fiction, and able to proofread 3 short stories, with a total of 4600 words.Responsibilities include:

1. Correcting spelling mistakes and grammatical errors.
2. Sub-editing text written by a number of authors to ensure consistent house style.
3. Working with IT-based publishing systems and databases, as well as via the internet or from paper manuscripts.
4. Checking that authors have provided all the required materials and paperwork.
5. Resolving queries with Production Manager, such as style and text inconsistencies.
6. Coding manuscripts for design features, such as the hierarchy of headings, to instruct the DTP team.
7. Producing or working on a style checklist to ensure consistency in hyphenation, capitalization, formatting of references, etc.
8. Maintaining awareness of new words or phrases coming into popular usage to ensure they're appropriate for the readership.
