We use Quickbooks as our accounting platform. I couldn't find any third party apps that would allow for the customization of a job number. So I'm considering something built separate from Quickbooks. It is not complicated and could be built using SharePoint or perhaps another Office 365 app. Ideally it would be hosted in O365 and available on desktop and mobile. It would need to be interactive and produce the job number based on the users input. It would be structured as follows:
1- Prefix - alpha characters that are abbreviations of our various locations. For example, the prefix TA would be for a Tampa job
2- Year - next two characters are numeric and represent the year. 19 for 2019
3- Month - next two characters are numeric and represent the month. 05 for May
4- Sequence - last four are numeric and sequential numbers
