We are looking engage someone experienced in machine learning / computer vision to create a model that can detect pomegranates on an image of a tree. We have -600 high resolution images of pomegranate trees to work.
Phase 1 of the project would entail an assessment on our initial batch of pictures to determine whether the pictures are usable and provide guidance on how we can improve the images. We would also like you to scope out Phase 2 of the project, providing an estimate on the time / cost involved.
Phase 2 of the project would be the actual construction and programming of the model to detect the fruit in the images.
Model requirements:
1) Must be able to count the total number of visible fruit on the tree, including fruits that are partially obscured and fruits that are closely clustered together
2) Must be able to exclude fruits from other trees that may appear in the background
3) Each fruit must be sized and categorized into 1 of 5 size groups
