This role will write engaging, detailed content about fire prevention and suppression products, services, and solutions (e.g., fire sprinklers, extinguishers, standpipe systems, fire safety code, etc.). Our goal is to continue our phenomenal web traffic growth by delivering articles that provide useful information and engage our B2B clientele. As an inbound marketing organization, we now drive upwards of 50% of our traffic through well-researched, search engine-optimized articles and we're looking for professional help to keep this trend going.
The writer we hire will be expected to research the subject, draft 1,200-2,500-word pieces, incorporate Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best-practices including keywords most likely to garner significant traffic, and work with an editor to improve a piece and incorporate products, imagery, and additional detail.
Qualifications:
1. Must be able to conduct extensive research on a complex topic, appropriately cite sources, and be accurate.
2. Have the adaptability to work with our team and deliver amazing content on time and within budget.
3. Have a passion for writing amazing pieces.
4. Maintain an eye for marketing best practices.
5. A journalism/research background is a big plus. Equivalent skill is a requirement.
6. Experience writing for a B2B eCommerce company is also a plus.
You can see (recent) examples of our pieces.
There are also opportunities for social media writing, topic identification, on-site copy improvements, and video screenwriting. These can be discussed if the person entering this role has interest - once the article writing runs smoothly.
Unlike many companies looking for content, we compensate fairly for complex articles that take time to complete with appropriate detail and research. If you have the skill and attention to detail to impress our editor, this will be a long-term, well-paid position.
