The Volunteer Circle is a skill-sharing platform that connects people to NGOs based on personalized criteria. The job is to develop a code to recommend people to other similar and relevant volunteer opportunities based on their interests, participation and availability. What I'd like to implement is a recommendation algorithm which shows available vacant volunteer opportunities that would be appealing to users who volunteered/participated in a similar role or task. Personalization is at the core of our service and we would like to leverage the practice of e-commerce algorithm and big data to encourage volunteering.
The objective is to promote volunteerism and give individuals, through our platform, access to a wide range of opportunities that need their time and skill to grow. In other words, the objective is to empower people to make an impact, their own way. You will be using your tech and machine learning skills to solve a real-world tension.
