We're looking for a detail-oriented developer who can devote 30-40 hours per week to building new features for our existing Android and web applications, as well as troubleshooting and advising on ways to improve the user experience. This developer will work on Android apps that control our bike locks, as well as the server and web dashboard that businesses use to track and manage their bike share fleets. The ideal candidate is someone who is just as comfortable doing server work as they are doing Android or API/SDK work.
We are looking for someone who can investigate problems independently and proactively implements solutions, but also enjoys working with a team. This person must be willing to work from our Oakland, CA office at least 2-3 times per week, as much of the work requires testing app connectivity with hardware and collaborating directly with business, product management, sales and other engineering team members.
This is a 3-4 month contract with the opportunity to be ongoing if there is a good mutual fit (people tend to like us! :).
About the Company:
LINKA is the world's first mounted smart bike lock that pairs with your smartphone to eliminate cumbersome keys and alert you of attempted theft. Launched in 2015 through an overwhelmingly positive Kickstarter campaign that was fully backed by 800 supporters within only four days, LINKA Lock now ships to cyclists in more than 50 countries and is working with bike OEMs, distributors and bike rental companies.
While our existing lock has been winning innovation and design awards across the bike world, we have been developing LEO, the next generation of smart bike lock, along with a powerful new fleet management system that allows bike share operators to track and manage their bike fleets remotely. With the launch of LINKA LEO, users will be able to lock/unlock bikes remotely through a 4G network and track theft in real-time with a high-accuracy GNSS module.
