We would like for someone to develop an app for Amazon Fire TV and Android TV. The function of the app is to allow the user to airplay their Macbook/iPhone/iPad's (any apple device) visual and audio content onto the Fire/Android TV. For instance, the user can start a movie on their laptop, and then use onto the Fire/Android TV, in order to view it on a larger screen. We had hired someone else to develop this app before, but unfortunately the app didn't work as well as we wanted, as there was lag and occasional blurriness/connectivity issues. Based on conversations we have had with other developers, the connection code will have to be rewritten entirely, as you cannot modify the existing code to have the performance we need. We would like to keep the same UI, package name, title, etc.
I will share a one of the videos we would use to test the performance once hiring process is completed. The other videos would have a similarly high frame rate.
We are comfortable sharing the previous source code of this app with the candidate that is ultimately hired; but would highly recommend they rewrite the code from scratch instead, based on what other developers have said after looking at the code. I can also share the APK with candidates who have a Fire TV, so they can test it out beforehand.
The ideal candidate will:
1. Have experience developing for the Amazon Fire TV/Android TV.
2. Own, or can own, an Amazon Fire TV/Fire TV Stick and an Apple laptop. We are happy to cover the cost of purchasing the former, so long as you have a TV that is compatible. Unfortunately, we will not be able to cover the cost of an Apple laptop.
3. Conversational English skills.
The app will be published on Amazon Appstore and Google Play.

We are hoping to establish a long term relationship, as there are several other android apps we would either like to work on, depending on the performance of this app. There is some flexibility on the budget for this project.
