SCOPE - Construction inspection for the installation of signalized intersection improvements. These include but not limited to; traffic signal head backplates with retro-reflective borders, high visibility crosswalk markings, advance cross street name signs and countdown pedestrian indicators.
REQUIREMENTS - Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written, verbal communication includes contract staff, Chief Inspector and Safety personnel both in person and via two-way communications. Ability to read plans and specs and prepare written reports and daily narratives; prepare special inspection reports; the collection of data necessary to submit monthly and final estimates and progress reports; prepare daily time and material records; perform on-site field testing and measurements. Maintain records in accordance with The Manual of Uniform Record Keeping (MURK). Maintain Resident Engineer's daily log, keep Chief Inspector advised of issues, and propose possible solutions.
Minimum 5 years' experience inspecting roadway and highway construction
Valid Driver's license required.
Night and weekend shifts may be required.
NYSDOT Site Manager training.
