This project will be deemed successful when we get our CNC Router working with a different PC.
Prefer to run LinuxCNC on Debian or Ubuntu.
The router is a controlled by an 'Anaheim Automation' controller manufactured in May, 1995. There are three (3) Axis' and it is connected to the PC via a Parallel port.
In order to the PC talking to the Router, I had to use 4 axis in the wizard.
There is a plate on the arm over table that says Ekstrom-Carlson, Item # SM-C99
8HP, 24k RPM, 220 Volts, 3 Phase, 400 Hertz 21.8 Amps
The PC is connected via a single Parallel Port.
I have the old PC available to compare settings.
The old PC runs CNC Zeus, but the settings are not easily copied to LinuxCNC (different terminology)
I've successfully 'moved' the router using LinuxCNC, but not correctly. I will configure it to move 14 inches and it moves 4 inches. On the Z-axis it will come down, but will not go back up.
