I need someone experienced with cleaning up product data. I have this issue where the tags on my products are a mess.
Currently, the tags I have set up on my products are being used for different things such as shipping, pricing, sales, categories, and filtering. The issue is that over time it becomes very hard to track my tags. When reading through them and trying to modify them I don't know what represents what. So in order to keep that from happening I decided to add a prefix to all of my tags so that the tags can be identified by what they are used for. (since you are the expert with data if you have a better solution, lmk)
The thing is that I need you to do now is to replace the old tag with the new one on an excel sheet so that it contains the prefix, below is an example.
Old - 'Large'
New - 'Size:Large'
I have a sheet where one column contains the old tag and another column with the new tag.
I have another sheet where it contains the products and the old tags that need to be replaced.
I'm not sure if you want to do this using Find & Replace or whatever but the data that comes out needs to be perfect or it could ruin our website and cause us to lose revenue.
In the end I would also like a version of the file that has each column separated by a unique tag. I would like to be able to do the separation by a unique tag over and over again so if you can create a tool to do in a separate project let me know how much it could be.
