I run an analytics consultant agency. We help large clients understand their customer database on a deep level. Not only 'geographic', 'age' or 'segment'-level.
Our main clients are large consumer-goods companies and manufacturers selling to retailers and consumers. I look for one or more Data Scientists, Data Analysts and Data Visualizers that are fast, professional, speak excellent English and most important of all: can easily coach me in explaining the data. We need to have iterative sessions where you can educate what we are seeing, how we can analyze the findings etc.
Overall, this is how an example way-of-working will look:
1. I have a huge batch of data. Currently, I have 400.000 rows of data with Customer-ID on each row. The columns include: Purchase Date, Order ID, Product ID, EUR Price, COGS, Gross Margin etc.
2. I have a thesis about the data that I want to run. For example, I want to cluster all the company's clients into different categories. On a very detailed level, based on their previous purchasing behavior. We might include factors like triggers, price points, campaigns, peak dates of the year etc...
3. We look at the data sets together. We decide what kind of analytics we want to run during that + the next day. Maybe we run a correlation of all columns vs. Gross Margin to find what behaviors drive Gross Margin. Maybe we want to do a Kmeans clustering on all clients and start clustering them based on purchasing patterns. And so on.
4. You run the analysis and visualize the findings in whatever program you want. I am used to Jupyter and Tableau, but as long as we understand and it looks good, doesn't matter!
5. We have daily video session where you explain the findings and we summarize conclusions.
This position is aimed to be a long-term, well compensated one. I happily pay a bit more and build a strong relationship with a freelancing Data Scientist.
