I have a client that is currently looking for a designer to create illustrations for their quarterly magazine. The magazine is for a top business school in China, with articles generally being about economic trends and the impact that business policies have on the country. It has a print circulation of around 14,000, and a high percentage of its readers are C-level executives based in North America and Europe that like to keep up to date with current events in China.
As the magazine is published quarterly, we're hoping to find someone to build a longer-term relationship with and who has some basic knowledge of Chinese culture and society.
Payment is made per image and if the client likes your work, there is definitely a possibility of doing more than one illustration per issue. Expectations are for the designer to come up with some idea sketches (+- 5) based on the topic of the article, design the selected idea, and then help with final edits that the client requests (we try and keep these to a minimum).
We will provide the examples of some designs from previous issues with shortlisted freelancers.
Please send through some of your design samples, as well as a short introduction of yourself, where you're based and your availability.
