NOTE: Only apply if you have access to an Openstack Trove service and knowledge of Openstack Trove configuration and administration.
Openstack Trove image for Queens releases needed based on Ubuntu 18.04 and MariaDB 10.2+ with Galera Cluster funcitionality. While Disk Image Builder (referenced in the link) automates the build process (still requires environment variables to be set) the image must be tested against the Kolla-ansible Queens release. Kolla-ansible provides an all-in-one Openstack deployment based on containers automate an Openstack setup via Ansible playbooks. Testing must ensure that all functionality availble for MariaDB datastore support works properly as supported in Queens. Important: The matrix is outdated and MariaDB clustering was supported as of the Mikita release (4 release prior to Queens). That is all of the features for MariaDB are now supported as of the Queens release.
Deliverables include all code and settings to build and run the image as well as briefly document the settings or environmental variables used in the build and the kolla-ansible settings.
Noite: Developer will develop and test on their own machine (or any suitable kolla-ansible Openstack Queens release implementation that provides the functionality needed to implement and test the image per the above). Client will test on its own Openstack envriornment. Freelancer will provide any needed Kolla-ansible settings files to enable the client to test. Given the kolla-ansible functionality, this will provide compatible functionality for Trove instantiated instance across Openstack environments. The configuration files most likely needed to be provided by the freelancer include, but are not limited to (other Openstack service config files may also be needed such as Swift, Cinder, Nova, Neutron, etc.), the Trove configuration files.
The ideal candidate will have experience with Openstack and especially Openstack Trove and the building of Trove images. Familiarity with Openstack deployments using kolla-ansible will very beneficial.
