The objective of this job is to assist in the replacement of a failing drive, part of (software) RAID 1 array on a host running CentOS.
The candidate is expected to help with the following tasks:
1. Identify/confirm the identification of the failing drives in order to request the replacement from the hosting company
2. Remove the failing drive from the array
(after the drive replacement)
3. Integrate the replacement drive into the array
The candidate should be able to perform his tasks during a video conference with screen sharing, so that all steps performed can be discussed as they are executed. Given the low complexity of the tasks, this is expected to take a short amount of time.
The intervention needs to be compatible with reasonable hours at UTC.
In order to ensure mutual understanding, the candidate should have a decent command of either english or portuguese.
The successful execution of this task may lay the foundations to further assignments in the near future.
