This existing Shiny app contains a network diagram which is created with visNetwork. I need tooltips on the diagram so that the user can interact with the nodes and edges, reading information about them but also clicking on actionButtons to carry out actions related to each node and edge. The task only relates to functionality of the tooltips, not to their contents, I can do that myself.
Also, it should be possible to ctrl-click on more than one node, or more than one edge, and then on hover, the tooltip contents should refer to these multiple nodes or edges.
At the moment everything kind-of works, but the main problems are:
the tooltip sometimes doesn't follow the mouse
the tooltip doesn't disappear when mouse leaves the network graph
if mouse goes from 1) edge E to 2) node N and 3) back to edge E, the tooltip does not change on 3 to refer to edge E, instead it continues to relate to node N, because of the way the tooltip is triggered. User has to go to another edge and then back to E in order to get the tooltip to relate to E
You can either tweak my existing solution to solve these three problems, or rewrite the tooltip functionality from scratch.
This task should only involve changes to one small file.
It is quite a complex app in terms of code but not so much in terms of technologies. At the moment there are no live users, we are in pre-alpha.
