I just had a freelancer on here go MIA on me after I released $1,000 of a $3,500 budget on design costs, and I will not be getting a website out of that gig. I can provide anyone who is interested with a link to the unfinished template that he mocked up (I do not have source code), but this situation essentially leaves me with only $2,500 to work with for the time being (I might be able to recoup by next month and bring things back to $3,500, but please do not reach out about this gig if you cannot work within this budget; you will be wasting both of our time).
I'm an artist working through different mediums (mostly music and visuals) who just needs a new, cool website to host art, write formal articles/pieces, share a resume/CV in a cool way, and a few other things. And I really want something out of the box.
When I say "out of the box," this is the kind of stuff that I'm thinking of:

I'd prefer the base site be minimal in terms of the colors and overall layout, but with fancy, innovative interaction/UX elements. Perhaps "gothic' subtleties in terms of typefaces used, but nothing overboard.
Here is a series of good references for "interaction/UX elements"
I will share some reference link with shortlisted candidates.
Want a site that stands out from the stock Squarespace-esque stuff most artists have, and that also has a couple unique pages or features (in addition to the ability to host a web shop further down the line), though this will probably have to be scaled down or outright ditched due to present budget constraints created by this MIA developer.
Gonna need someone who can hook me up with a backend as well.
If you are super creative, have UI/UX design experience (this is important; if you don't have a design eye, then this might not be for you!), and like to have fun, please reach out. Want to work with someone who wants to flex their design/developer muscles and do something unique, interesting, and interactive.
I'm a minimalist, so I want the cool stuff to be in the subtleties and the UI/UX design more than anything else.
Can send more details to whoever is interested with regard to the general aesthetics of my work and character, in addition to loose references and details for what I'm looking for specifically through aforementioned "unique pages or features."
Again, I now have a budget of $2,500. Had $3,500, but $1,000 is gone. Pretty upset about that. Might be able to recoup, but not certain.
