My IIS web server has 3 sites. One of the sites has more than 10,000 applications in it. Each time I add or delete an application IIS crashes. Right now my applicationHost.config file is 3.1 MB, however, when I decrease the number of applications and the applicationHost.config file decreases to 2.5 MB I am able to delete and convert folders to an 'Application'
I need an IIS expert to be able to increase the size settings for applicationHost.config so it does not crash IIS when I add or delete applications at 3.1 MB file size. Or figure a way to have multiple applicationHost.config files so it will distribute the file size acorss multiple applicationHost.config files.
The project goal is to have a large applicationHost.config file without crashing IIS when adding or deleting 'application', because I will need to be able to support 100,000 applications inside of IIS without it crashing (now it is crashing at above 10,000).
Also a side note that is not related, I did the registry setting 'MaxWebConfigFileSizeInKB' from the default size to a higher size. I have no issues with the web.config file; just the applicationHost.config
Thank you
