What does a News Reporter do at Cointelegraph?
- Look for (and find) pitches for news articles relevant to the target audience
- Write and deliver news stories fast, with high quality and according to the company's guidelines (AP style)
- Present all stories (original, breaking and aggregated) in an accessible, consistent and - compelling style
- Always has their fingers on the market's pulse to understand what's going on and keep up with the industry
What background should a candidate have to apply?
We don't really care about degrees and awards. We want to have someone who is:
- Experienced in working in the newsrooms (1+ year; preferably in financial/tech media)
- Boasting an excellent command of both written and oral English and Portuguese.
- Aware of the industry and the technology
- Capable of turning letters into words, words into sentences, sentences into articles worth reading, sharing and telling your friends about
- Okay with us not mentioning idiotic stuff like 'team player,' and 'quick learner'
Who is the best person for the job?
A smart one.
We would love to see an individual who can think on their feet, can work in a (reasonable) chaos and loves the fast-moving pace. Being a news reporter means being passionate about breaking the news first. Being in love with the crypto industry or having a desire to learn every single bit of it is essential.
