I run an wall art print website currently in Shopify. I want to add functionality for artists to register as artists (basically 3rd party sellers) and upload their artwork to my store to sell.
The difference is, I will be fulfilling their artwork when it sells as a physical printed poster.
The basic required functionality I need is:
1) Artist registers to sell their artwork
2) Artist is able to create a new product, name it and must be able to upload the high-resolution print file for the artwork
3) Artist sets their own commission percentage on top of standardised pricing.
3) Admin will approve the artwork for sale and be able to make any changes if required (adding better product images, for example)
4) Each artwork will have specific variations, such as size, framed or canvas, etc. The artists/seller will have no control over this.
5) Upon sale, an email auto-notification is sent to the artist/seller to congratulate them.
6) Commission invoices are generated and sent to the seller/artist
*Optional* 7) Image mock-ups are automatically generated once the high-resolution art file is uploaded.
Look at Red Bubble and Fine Art America for artist upload / image mock-up functionality.
This does not need to be an add-on for my Shopify store. I am happy to start from scratch with a new e-commerce platform.
Please let me know:
1) Is my brief possible to build?
2) Is the concept possible with existing marketplace apps on an existing e-commerce platform? (ie. not much custom building)
3) If you can make it work, please name your price - the price I have indicated is a GUIDE only. Bid lower if you can. Big higher if you must.
4) How long will it take to build?
