We require a senior-level DBA to assist with maintaining OUR Oracle database
environment. The environment currently consists of 71 databases. The largest of these is
roughly 400 GB, and 4 are production standby databases. You will provide the following Oracle Database activities:
1. Assist and perform database upgrades to latest version and identified Oracle 12 version
to avoid current version extended support requirements and unsupported timelines;
2. Assist and configure Fleet Maintenance, which is required with these new Oracle database
versions to perform automated patch management. we must have an effective and
efficient automated method to apply quarterly patches to databases;
3. Assist in assessing current Oracle Database backup processes (RMAN) and implement an
improved method to utilize Cloud Control to alert staff of backup issues versus the
current methods of reviewing all database backup logs. i.e. alert staff if backup on database
X failed; and
4. Author and deliver technical documentation of each activity.
You will need to spend 1 week onsite in Western PA. Travel/lodging paid for.
