We are an industrial distributor, we sell items like duct tape, hand tools, power tools, spray paint, and batteries. We have two buyers who do not have time to follow up on their purchase orders sent to vendors. Items can be backordered, making us late to our customers, and we do not know about it unless someone calls or emails the vendors.
We need real time accurate information for our customers.
This position would follow up on purchase orders with vendors via email and phone regularly and update our ERP system with details as they are received.
An ideal candidate would be fluent in English, have product knowledge, ERP system experience, and purchasing experience. They must be able to work during some of our hours (morning PST) and they must be able to make phone calls.
Ideally this individual would review our open orders daily identifying delinquent items, follow up on them, and identify patterns. If a recurring tool or vendor is causing us to be late we need to substitute that vendor or item, we need to identify the issue to take action.
