We are assisting a client of ours put together some unique training content. While the overall goal is to make this feel as much like a game as possible, it will be built in an e-learning platform. Our team will be managing all the content and creating videos, photos, graphic design and animations for the project. We are looking for a developer to hire to build the program using preferably Captivate but possible Articulate.
The entire scope of the project is quite large so we are starting with just one module so that we can prove the concept and discover the costs involved. So if this goes well there will much more work to follow.
The basic overview of the project is as follows: this content is granular engineering content being distributed to house engineers at hotel properties for training purposes. This content includes basic troubleshooting for some key pieces of equipment within hotel environments: things like chiller towers, boilers, air handlers, etc. We are working to create a "choose your own adventure" style of experience: pending the choices of the end user, they would either be permitted to proceed through the training or they would have to participate in some video training to bring their knowledge up to speed.
This would be a very visuals-heavy project. The environments where the trainings would take place have already been built out within SketchUp, so ideally we would just be importing these in to the e-learning platform and creating some opportunities for the user to engage with the environment.
Ideally, we would also implement a scoring system to track the performance of each user to where we could implement some sort of competition between users.
I will share a PDF with shortlisted candidates that shows the full diagram for 1 of the 5 courses that will be developed. The shaded area in the box is all that we need a quote for as that will be the piece that is developed as a test. This will give you an idea of exactly what needs to be developed.
We need bids on this project quickly. This can be a rather broad quote - a range of hours at a given hourly rate or a ranged project price are both acceptable, but we are motivated to get something back to them as soon as possible.
What other information would you need to generate some rough pricing for us?
We would like to schedule a call with leading candidates early next week.
