Custom Metal Fabrication Company (Zionsville, IN) is actively seeking a SolidWorks Design Professional.
Work Hours - Based entirely on design workload, but might be 4 hours one week or 30 hours the next week.
Work Week - Actual days based on design workload.
Work Location - Individual will need to be willing to be present at our location to perform the work; however, we are open to an arrangement of working from our location and also working from home.
Essential Duties:
*Read and interpret blueprints, process sketches, draft mock-ups, etc.
*Ability to take blueprints, process sketches, draft mock-ups or verbal instructions and create the finished design layout in SolidWorks 3D CAD Design Software while minimizing product waste
*Maintain, manage and safeguard all electronic files used for SolidWorks
*Ability to proficiently use a wide variety of measuring instruments
*Ability to work effectively and efficiently with the CNC Laser Operator to ensure laser cut parts match the SolidWorks design and troubleshoot problem areas and make corrections if necessary
Required:
*At least 3 years of experience with SolidWorks 3D CAD Design Software
*Strong knowledge of SolidWorks
*Must possess and demonstrate the highest standards in integrity, attention to detail, organizational skills, attendance, reliability and positive attitude
*Ability to use basic math to analyze information and measuring equipment
*Ability to work efficiently, effectively and within tight deadlines
*Ability to work both independently and in a team
Preferred Experience:
*Experience modeling steel and aluminum parts in SolidWorks
*Certified CSWE - Mechanical Design and/or other relevant certifications
*Experience in metal fabrication environment
*Understanding of a variety of machining and fabrication techniques
