Solution Architect/ Cloud Architect
Location: Livermore, CA/Sunnyvale, CA
Role: Full Time
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The primary role of the Solution Architect involves translating and explaining highly complex technical information to customers and clients, focusing on revealing how a product or service can solve specific problems. From time to time it will be expected that the engineer will provide onsite services for client demos, and/or deployments. The Solution Architect is expected to stay abreast of the latest developments and breakthroughs, and pass this vital knowledge on to others as needed.
The Solution Architect is expected to act as the technical encyclopedia during the positioning and sale of goods and services. They represent the technical aspects of the product and propose how these aspects can benefit the customer. The Solution Architect must maintain a strong technical understanding of the complexities of BayInfotech's (BIT), and its partners, services and programs together with excellent sales skills. At times the technical sales engineer may act in different roles: pre-sales, support or as a field consultant depending on the needs of the particular engagement.
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.A. /B.S. Degree is required (possible exceptions if offset by professional experience and track record)
- 10+ years of enterprise experience in a solution engineer or solutions architect role
- Cloud certifications in either AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus
- Operational experience in delivering/running cloud managed services and/or professional services is preferred.
- Proven ability to sell both professional and managed services into Fortune 2000 accounts as the technical sales lead
- Technical and operational acumen with developing solutions for pricing of cloud migration and managed services
- Strong understanding of cloud technology with a broad understanding of infrastructure and large ecosystem technologies
- You will be expected to develop a deep understanding of industry trends and competitive offerings
- Solid understanding of the technical and operational strengths and weaknesses of competition in the cloud managed services space- and ability to adeptly position BIT in light of that knowledge
- Track record juggling the pursuit of multiple opportunities across different lines of business and several BDEs simultaneously
- Understanding of target industries (technology, SaaS/ISV, healthcare/pharma/biotech, financial services) and solution areas (Iaas, PaaS, SaaS, DevOps, Security, Networking, SysAdmin, Data Center Consolidation/Migration, Public/Private/Hybrid Cloud)
