You'll be provided with a lot of blog posts (mainly buying guides in the "best X for Y" format, example: best backup camera with night vision) that require a decent amount of editing.
You'll have to check them against a standard template and instructions that we usually provide the writers who write those articles. A knack for typo and other grammatical error-spotting is a bonus.
However, this is much more than just checking for spelling and grammar mistakes. You'll need to ensure that the article is written in the right style for our audience. It is also crucial that we present information in interesting and actionable ways (nobody wants to read a 'wall of text').
This is a long term position, and we own and operate many more websites in various fields that can benefit from a capable editor. However, feel free to apply even if you have just a couple of months on hand, as we're primarily looking to go through our current batch of doubtful articles first.
The main requirements for this role are:
• Native English
• Attention to detail
• A good understanding of what makes great content
• The ability to give clear and conscious feedback
• A basic (reasonable) understanding of automative is a bonus
If you are interested, please start your application with the word “BOOM” so I know you read the job posting. Could you Please provide at least 3 samples of similar content that you have edited and/or published in your application?.
