We are looking for an experienced QA Automation Engineer with extensive experience with Katalon Studio or a similar QA Automation tool. We want to use a subscription-based Automation tool and not one with a large upfront capital expense. The ideal candidate has successfully performed similar automations before.
We are an analytics company that generates online dashboards with analytics for our clients. In order to validate a new release we manually compare the dashboards on our test server with those on the production server.
In order to pass a test, the data on the test server's dashboard needs to be identical to the data on the production server.
If it is the same it passes, if not we need to check and manually pass or fail the test as it could be an expected difference.
I included an image of a typical dashboard, the goal is to compare the numbers on the dashboard with those on the same page in the test server and report any differences.
Assuming we can compare one dashboard to another we then will want to create a test suite that compares a collection of dashboards with and without filters to pass/fail a release candidate.
Any failures should be automatically added to a JIRA project and assigned to one of our engineers.
Additional Details
- Some dashboards may have multiple pages so it will be required to scroll through some of them to ensure a representative set of them are identical
- Some dashboards have an optional filter(s) that can be set, we need to be able to specify test cases with certain filter combinations and compare the end result to the same settings on the production server
- Besides the comparing of dashboards we also would lie to export CSV files from a widget on a dashboard on both test and prod and compare them.
