Introduction
After the construction of a house / building the customer and the construction company
agree on the service and maintenance of that building. If an issue occurs the construction
company will fix the issue. The normal process will be explained below using an example
where the door is stuck:
1. The customer notices that his door is stuck.
2. The customer sends an email to the construction company
3. The front office employee of the construction company receives the email and
creates a new work order based on that issue.
4. The work order have been given a priority based on agreements made with the
customer.
5. The planner has an overview of all work orders.
6. The planner assigns the work order to a construction worker.
7. The construction worker receives the work order on his smartphone.
8. The construction worker start working on the work order.
9. The construction worker drives towards the customer.
10. All the details of the abnormality are in his smartphone.
11. The construction worker takes pictures of the current state.
12. The construction worker fixes the abnormality.
13. The construction worker takes pictures of the fixed state.
14. The construction worker uses his smartphone to digital sign the work order by the
customer.
15. The construction worker finishes the work order.
16. The dispatch board of the planner is now updated that the work has been finished.
Dispatch board
The dispatch board is the place where all work orders are being scheduled. This is like a
calendar where all the 10-20 construction workers are listed. The planner can see the live
status of each work order. If for example a construction worker is over time the planner must
see that the work order has become red and so the planner needs to reschedule some of his
later work. The work orders can be scheduled by dragging and dropping them into the
calendar.
This project contains more deliverables like Mobile development, back-end and a front end for entering work orders however these deliverables are not a part of this project. This project is only for developing the dispatch board.
