NTG will be performing wireless deployments and upgrades for a local Government agency. NTG is seeking an experienced Wireless Engineer. This individual will work closely with Government representatives. The Wireless Engineer will be designing and configuring new network components to firewalls, switches, and AP's to support connectivity throughout a Government facility.
Job Duties:
Design and configure wireless network components to include Aruba, Cisco, Fortinet to provide wireless data connectivity between appropriately equipped endpoints.
Transition existing network connections in the buildings from the existing infrastructure to the new equipment.
Configure WLAN controllers, Access points and Network switches.
Perform network related tasks, including configuration of firewalls and routers.
Provide detailed network drawings and diagrams and relation as-built documentation.
Skills / Qualifications:
- Thorough understanding of 802.11 based wireless architecture.
- Minimum 5+ years' experience in wireless engineering with Cisco, Aruba, Fortinet.
- Strong working knowledge installing, configuring, and supporting Wireless LAN Hardware products and complex network environments.
- Must have excellent communication skills, writing skills, and the ability to work with team members at all levels.
- Excellent customer interface, oral communications, and technical writing skills are a must.
- Wireless knowledge with network design, operational support, hands-on implementation and configuration of routers, switches, Controllers, Access points, and cabling in a large enterprise LAN/WAN /WLAN environment.
Education / Experience:
- Minimum 7 years' professional experience, preferably working with the Government
- Bachelor's Degree preferred, Associates degree or less acceptable with additional experience
- US citizenship is mandatory
- Must be able to obtain National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) security clearance, if required
