ABOUT ME

Over the course of years I've mastered so many tools and techinques that it makes no sense to number all of them, at least half of them is obsolete, anyway (like lingo). As to the more relevant and conteporary: currently I'm creating mostly websites 'from scratch' based on graphic layout supplied. I can create layout too, but I lack artist skills, so I abandoned this line of work quite a few years ago. I can use vanilla PHP and JS, and frameworks or ready made CMS. My favourite combos are phalcon + JQuery, and regarding CMS there were many one-off cases, but most of the time I'm using wordpress, drupal or magento, depending on size and requirements of the project. I've used typo 3, indexhibit, joomla, redDot and others. I created sites using cake, symfony, yii and phalcon. Recently took an effort to ditch JQuery and took up vue.js, having tried angular and react on the way. For a period of time used server side JS too. Currently only npm and node for some projects. Tried using docker, but found not much use for it right now (not much team to share docker images with). I have used many workflow and versioning solutions like jira, mantis, slack, trello, teamwork, svn, cvs, git and online sites for freelancers with time tracking and video tracking software too.

I can handle and optimize to some extent raw sql database queries. Mostly MySQL, though there was some postgres period too. I am familiar with linux CLI, maybe not a master, but I have done some administrating work, server config, DNS setup and so on. I have experience regarding various caching, CDN, stress-testing and monitoring tools. I regard cloud flare as invaluable help when setting up high traffic website (I've been taking care of some sites with hundreds of thousands uu daily in most busy periods). I have used pingdom and newrelic for monitoring, along with server logs, which I can read and use too. I have worked as a 'first line of response' in case of site malfunction, so I became pretty acquainted with quick debugging, assessing downtime causes and taking further course of action. Looks like I am not a specialist in a narrow discipline, but rather jack of all trades. It's understandable, regarding my type of work and projects available. Most of my job history is a freelance work for various agencies.
