ABOUT ME

Ritwik has extensive engineering skills and in-depth knowledge and professional experience in the area of materials and process development, integrated with property modification, failure analysis to meet a variety of material challenges and testing requirements. He strives to provide the highest level of technical service, to ensure technical integrity, and to provide a quality report in a timely manner.

Ritwik's practical experience in R & D-based activities is uncompromising. With a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a Ph.D. in metallurgy and materials engineering from IIT Bombay, he has gained experience and in-depth knowledge of materials and processes to provide critical insight into many material and manufacturing related issues. He was a researcher at University of Saskatchewan, Canada with Jerzy Szpunar’s research group for Advanced Materials for Clean Energy. Much of his research has been devoted to property modification and failure analysis, which requires understanding metallurgical, microstructural, mechanical, corrosion, or tribological phenomena and correlating them with production processes and application environments. His expertise lies in mainly electron microscopic techniques such as electron backscattered diffraction (EBSD), energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy and Texture-X Ray diffraction to obtain qualitative and quantitative information about the microstructural characteristics of a material during manufacturing and processing, post processing treatment, service life and failure.
