ABOUT ME

I recently completed my MA Textile Design course at the University of Southampton and am currently seeking a role that will allow me to use the technical knowledge gained from my first degree and my subsequent specialist Masters qualification.

The MA course helped me advance creativity, attention to detail and presentation skills. I have explored a range of unconventional design ideas using varied techniques like screen printing, foiling, weaving, digital printing, patchwork and embroidery. In the past year, I have developed an ability to translate my art instincts into textile design. The Sustainability module allowed me to understand various design and technical aspects in depths. During the course, I have managed to play the role of Class representative and also balanced working part time.

Prior to pursuing masters, I have worked in a Bombay based home textiles export house, where I undertook the role of a Designer. I was challenged to create two seasonal collections supported with current trend research and forecasts and get involved in the production process; these collections were later well received by brands across the globe in international trade fairs like Ambiente, Frankfurt. Working with clients of diverse demands challenged me to develop a wide range of designing skills. I have spent the last few years focusing on this discipline and developing technical expertise in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. This was a demanding role that included: project management, team management, communication skills, motivation; presentation skills and prioritisation.
