About This Service

Are you looking to develop or re-design your existing website? I can help manage the entire flow and be your one point of contact for all decisions.

Following is the process

Planning:

  1. Plan the project flow, and determine the timelines with the team. Ok it with the primary decision maker.
  2. Finalize the team. This will be provided by the client or hired by them.
  3. Determine the scope of the project. Areas that will be required - UI, UX, CMS, Development etc. Determine the technology if required. Determine the platform for the website. Hosting, Domain etc. Determine security certifications
  4. Content outline of what must be there on the website. Take a content inventory.
  5. Determine the Target Audience. If this has not been identified, it needs to be identified.
  6. Set the objectives the website should achieve.

Background and research:

  1. User Research to profile users, their needs, objectives they will need to achieve. Also have the user flow in place. Decide the type of website.
  2. Determine where the website will need to be most present - Mobiles, desktops etc. Also determine things like language, disabilities etc.
  3. Checklist of required content, suggested functionality for the site to be included.
  4. Inventory of available content and content that needs to be developed
  5. Information architecture with the website structure to be presented.
  6. Technology to be finalized. If payment gateway etc. need to be finalized it needs to be done at this stage.
  7. This is presented for approval in a document format.

Mock ups

Phase 1:

  1. Low Fidelity clickable mock ups or wireframes
  2. Mood boards with 3 options to suggest color pallets, style and mood for the website.
  3. This is presented for approval.

Phase 2:

  1. Content to be finalized based on final wireframes
  2. High fidelity mockups - This will be almost the website without the final programming.
  3. Image mockups which have user flow incorporated, navigation incorporated to give the feel of the website. This is primarily to check for navigation but more so for the UI and UX. High level content to be in place including menu items, titles, basic information etc. For detailed content placeholders will be made if finalized content is not available or changes are required
  4. Content to be finalized
  5. To be finalized by the decision maker.
  6. User testing to be done to ensure that the flow works.

Final Coded Website

  1. Final coded website with final content to be presented to the decision maker. This will be a clickable website with all client side functionality but without the server based functionality e.g logins, database checks etc.
  2. Technical checks, checks on all devices etc. for functionality and usability
  3. Changes incorporated if any
  4. Obtain Hosting, Domain etc. finalized. Security certificate if not done earlier.
  5. Approval by the Decision maker.

Launch online

  1. Update website and launch online.
  2. Check for errors and issues, and correct.
  3. Handed over to client for management

Deliverables - As mentioned above. Original project plan submitted in excel. Tool for task and project collaboration determiner along with the client

Please note:

  1. Regular reports will be sent with progress details and will be time based.
  2. Each phase will involve presentation by the team to the decision maker(s). Decision makers to review and give their feedback/approvals.
  3. One phase will not move to the next phase without final approvals.
  4. Teams to be arranged by the client. Coordination aspects tools to be provided by the client. Team members required - UI, UX (or UX and UI expert), Front end developer and backend developer (alternatively full stack developer), database expert, SEO expert, content developer.
  5. Purchases, payments, service applications etc. will not be handled including research for services. This will have to be managed by the client.
  6. Research teams, user interactions etc. has to be handled by the team member or client. Such provision to be made. Client/user interfacing person will interact wholly with the development team.
  7. Feedbacks will be shared through presentations. It will be important for decision makers to be present and provide any high level or strategic inputs they may have.
  8. Decision makers may call for a presentation of the project at any time.
  9. This will not include e-com sites, web-applications and app development
  10. Costing is a flat rate per hour of time spent.
  11. The timelines mentioned is for a 20 page website

  1. Background about the person/business/event
  2. Context and objectives of the website.
  3. Date of completion
  4. Resources.
  5. Brief about your requirements for a website project manager. How will this help you.

Process suggested:

  1. Discussion to finalized the projects, rates, teams and terms of engagement.
  2. Start with the project and complete periodic milestones. Detailed milestones mentioned earlier
  3. Launch site.
  4. Debrief.
