Help get SSL Certificate for Website But Domain Host is Non-Responsive

I have a client who told me that his website is not secure. I let someone else build his site and he recommended letting him host the page multiple times. I declined and declined, never signed anything, but apparently he didnt list and is now hosting.

Long story short, I am at a total loss at how to get a security certificate because the person hosting it has COMPLETELY fallen off the earth. He wont respond to texts, emails, or LinkedIn messages and HIS site says not secure as well. Its been 2 days of non-stop reaching out.

I chatted with GoDaddy and they said they cannot help because its being hosted by a 3rd party, even if I buy a certificate from them.

Ideally, Id love to get this back hosted by either GoDaddy or Wordpress or something more reliable than current provider. Any ideas on how I can get that back without talking to him?

Any help, insight or suggestions you have is MUCH appreciated!! I will pay you for your time.

My client is losing money with his site being down.
