Mailchimp API - Marketing automation project

We want to automate a marketing process using mailchimp.

Each day we get a list of customers who visit our business. It is in a CSV format and contains their email address.

We want to be able to automatically update the customers record in our Mailchimp database.
We want to update the field Last-visit-date which is a custom date field.

This would be the end of the API / automation task. We can manually do this using the manual import feature.

We are looking for an API / Automated solution to update the last-visit-date. Some ideas we have are - monitor an dropbox / google drive folder which have the daily visitor report in it.

We are open to creative ideas to solve this business problems.

Once the date field for the customer is updated Mailchimp will automatically email out to the customers.
