Docker - Time consuming dependency installations

Docker Image Creation - I am looking for a way to prevent having to install all of my dependencies when I recreate a docker image. I am currently making some coding changes to a file and I every time I run docker I have to wait a very long time for the program to reinstall all of the dependencies.

I believe there are some docker commands that will help me in having to prevent reinstalling these time consuming dependencies.
