Programmer needed for database analysis and creating algorithms

We have a database of over one million items (always changing) that we need to take the database and be able to have a program open a PDF from any given item, and analyze a couple diagrams within it (as well as some stats on that PDF) and create an algorithm to grade (like A+ to F, but will be more complex) each item based on the algorithm. So we need to be able to automatically analyze these diagrams.
