NOTE: Contractor must confirm prior to engagement that they have access to an OpenStack undercloud and cloud needed to perform the work. Unfortunately, we will not be able to provide an Openstack clould for the work; however, this can be set up on a single machnie for development purposes.

The work consists of configuring and testing an Ubuntu 18.04/MariaDB 10.3 image via Openstack Trove. The base image is bionic-server-cloudimg-amd64.img obtainable from (link removed by Toogit admin) along with an install of mariadb-server 10.3 and trove-guestagent which can be installed from the above image with the following commands:

apt-get install software-properties-common
apt-key adv --recv-keys --keyserver hkp://keyserver.ubuntu.com:80 0xF1656F24C74CD1D8
add-apt-repository deb [arch=amd64,arm64,ppc64el] (link removed by Toogit admin) bionic main
apt-get update
apt-get -y upgrade
DEBIAN_FRONTEND=noninteractive apt-get install -y trove-guestagent mariadb-server

The following deliverables are required.

1. Testing and verification of the following functionality in Openstack for a mariadb datastore using MariaDB 10.3 (references to trove is referring to the openstack/python-troveclien - see the same on Github): Create a database instance (via trove create), create a database (via trove database-create), create an instance backup (via trove backup-create), create a cluster (via trove cluster-create), add more instances to a cluster (via trove cluster-grow) resize an instance (via trove resize-instance), resize a volume of an instance (via trove resize-volume), create a user on an instance (via trove user-create), grant access to a database for a user (via trove user-grant-access)

2. All Trove related configuration files necessary to implement the functionality including but not limited to trove.conf, trove-guestagent.conf, trove-conductor.conf, trove-taskmanager.conf, and cloudinit configuration files.

3. All modifications needed for the image to work with #1 and #2 above.

Due date is 1 week after hire.
