We are exploring the option to build a Hardware and software inventory tool (executable) that can be run on a server within a network and will discover all (virtual)servers, hosts, clusters, clients, devices, installed software. This application should be run in different environments and should output a structured report. Currently we are using Map toolkit but that tool is not suitable anymore because MSFT doesnt support this tool. Please let me know if you have experience with this and what you would advise us to do this. And what the lead time and costs will be for the first completely good version of the product.
