DBA to Architect and Iterate Scalable Data Platform

AVC Sense:
We are a profitable firm managing all aspects of Amazon Strategy, Marketing, Operations, Advertising, and SEO for numerous clients.

We are building a software system to maximize brand/manufacturer ROI across e-commerce platforms while creating a consistent brand presentation across channels with a minimum of duplicated effort.

Big Data Problems:
Client catalogs contain thousands of SKUs, each with thousands of data points to manage. Each data point influences search/sales rank in unknown ways. How do we make and track changes to these data points to maximize ROI without human intervention?

Big Strategy Problems:
Build vs Buy? We need effective tools now to sign new clients, but we havent found an adequate single product to serve our needs. Short-term, we need to tie those tools together. Long-term, we want those efforts to pay off in new, unique tools.
Open vs Closed? Should we build the tools or should we build the platform?

Big Human Problems:
How do we communicate to clients the positive impact our system is having on their brand? What can we automate and what cant we automate? What can we expose in our system to help convey to them what were doing without resorting to time-consuming client management calls?

Big Operational Problems:
We have a huge amount of data that weve already collected. How do we migrate and store this information without interrupting client management? How do we immediately make client services more effective and impactful while addressing long-term strategy?

Big Company Problems:
Were a tiny, but growing company, and were looking to find somebody to help us build a radical, enviable company culture while designing cutting-edge tools to put a simple UX on extremely complex problems.

We work fully remotely, there are no location requirements, and wed like to drive a radical approach to a long-term working culture with you. As an Toogit contractor, youre already at the forefront of a shifting employment landscape - how could we make your work/life experience even better?

Database Administrator / Architect:
We need somebody extremely self-driven and entrepreneurial to help us build the next iterations of the tools we use to support our service to our clients. We have a huge amount of Amazon sales data, client catalog information, Amazon advertising information, and its all stored in thousands of Excel spreadsheets. We want to consolidate it all into a scalable, flexible, extensible database that we can use ASAP to replace our Excel stack and iterate on quickly to develop much more powerful tools to drive ROI for our clients.

Youll need to have extremely good skills researching and documenting our existing solution, prototyping new concepts, architecting data collection/storage/structure/analysis, comfort with fast-paced, ambiguous startup operations, and the ability to create and destroy big projects while helping drive strategy discussions. If you need a dev manager to break up projects for you or you need to be given tight specs to build to, this isnt the right place. We need you telling us what youll build for the next great iteration, and we need you specng the build that will be done every week.

We will have full-time work for the right candidate who can help make us more efficient and bootstrap our way to expanding the firm.
