My app was removed from the Google Play store. My appeal resulted in a denial for a new use case, however I was told making the app ise the DEFAULT_SMS handler would be allowed. Hence I need the app to be changed. My current developer does not have the time mor skill to do our complete requirement provide some options on how to achieve. The difficulty would be getting the codebase to backport this.
