Help with Power BI issue/challenge

I would like to have help with a Power BI visualisation problem.
I have projects with a type that changes over time (project table with history on changing dimension). I want to show cumulative numbers (from transaction table) showing the historical type (from dimension) based on a month slicer.

Hope someone can help me with this problem in a way that I also understand how it is being resolved. Preferred to do this via a Microsoft Teams meeting.
