Quant needed to test a long/short stock trading signal in Excel and then Python

The first deliverable is a bug-free spreadsheet that shows if the signal offers a good risk-adjusted return on annual data without even balancing the portfolio by sector or industry. If the annual model performs well, then test a monthly model. If the monthly model performs well, then convert to python for real data science tasks. Universe = top 1000 US stocks. Portfolio tests should be done for long/short by sector and long/short by industry. If the signal doesnt work well, this assignment may only be 3 hours. If the signal is good, the project will probably expand to a few thousand dollars. The project manager has a quant background and reads Python but does not program. The freelancer should be an expert at excel, investments, python, and data science.
