build a device to measure distance and angle between it and another object

imagine object A is movable while object B is stationary however object B is able to move up and down.

now i am inside object A and driving it and would like to reverse park object A to object B to dock it together

both object A and B have 4 corners each, object A is (+) while object B is (-) that needs to be precisely aligned perfectly before both objects can be docked.

let me know the components to use and how to build it step by step

use the image as an example. object A is the truck while object B is the trailer. (1 thing to note is that, object B (the trailer) can be moved up and down
what electronics can i use that can be placed on both object A and object B to tell me (the driver inside object A) the distance and angle that i have to move to be perfectly aligned with object B? so that i can reverse park toward object B and dock it successfully
