Our first app revolutionized how lawyers do research for the jury selection process. As we grow we are expanding our feature set with a new app to apply our AI to other parts of their day to day practice.
We have prototyped the backend & front end and done a lot of user research and are ready to develop our v1 release
We will also be updating the backend code for our existing application focused on jury research and there is a chance to work on this as well as wed like consolidate as much of our backend logic as makes sense.

Our front-end is developed in Flutter and have simultaneous build tracks for iOS and Android, it will be accessing the backend work youll be doing. The backend is largely your playground, youll work along side our highly technical CEO & Founder on the vision, API, integrations with Outlook, Gmail/Gsuite, Dropbox, etc, our AI systems/internal databases/systems, and data types and work in Typescript in a test-driven workflow alongside him, deciding where you want to work with his support, but this is very much your project to lead and own with the support of tight, well understood, mature specifications so you can be happy, productive, and have well-set interfaces for your code to work with.
The front end interfaces with the backend code entirely through document reads/writes in Firestore. Authentication is using Firebases mechanisms with user/pass as well as options for Google & Outlook login. We will need to use Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications to mobile clients.
Our existing application uses a large MongoDB data store, REST APIs to search user data, and several AI and NLP APIs.
We have a significant footprint already on Google Cloud and prefer to use Stackdriver, Cloud Debug, Cloud Trace, etc tool stack and our CI/CD is hosted on Google Cloud Build. The CI/CD for both this project and our front-end is set up and ready for you to jump in, start writing tests, start coding, and see the results of your hard work go live.
If it works out mutually, wed love to see this transition into a long-term, consistent relationship.
We strongly prefer to design properly up front, decide on the proper level of reuse/modularization (not too much, not too little), define tests, and then craft maintainable code. We believe not only is this the most fun, its the most successful and the lowest cost over the long term. I am also open to discussing GraphQL for API consolidation as we grow.
