Bill of Materials Data Processing Software - Solidworks to Excel (or similar)

We have some existing software in Visual Studio for extracting and processing part numbers, descriptions etc from our Solidworks CAD system into a MS Excel based Bill of Materials. Then in MS Excel there is a Macro to print off drawings using this Bill of Materials.

We would like to update and improve various aspects of this software (we have a list). We are very open to changing the language it is written in if there is a good reason. Happy to discuss further on the phone. We do have some documentation of the existing software and what it needs to do.
