Boy and dog story 5,500 words for children 1st-5th grade

I am looking for a writer with a good sense of humor to write a fast paced story for elementary school children, grades 1-5.
Story is fun, adventure filled and must keep kids attention.
There are two main characters a 10 year old boy and his (talking) dog.

Must be familiar with stories like Magic Treehouse, Diary of a wimpy kid, Diary of a Minecraft Zombie, etc.

Humor and adventure are main two elements.

Story takes place in the Mexican Yucatan and involves Mayan history.
