Build a Serial connector and have the Fiber Optic Gyro properly functioning

Have prior expertise with Fiber Optic Gyros or any Ring laser gyros. Worked with Curtiss Wright is a plus.
I have 2x Curtiss Wright Gyro that I am looking to interface to collect scientific measurements.
Build a Serial Connector (I believe RS-422,or RS-485) and able to communicate to the gyro with a Serial terminal app of your choosing.
Ensure the gyro is functioning properly.
Provide manufacture or self technical guide that provides the Format of the data and commands/response to send/receive to the gyro.
