The key duties of the Collaboration Project Engineer are to understand and take ownership of the requirements of project deliverables and communications, which include Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Unity Connection, Cisco Unified IM and Presence, Cisco Unified Contact Center Express, Cisco Unified Border Element, Cisco Expressway, Cisco Telepresence platforms and endpoints, Cisco IP phones, and VMWare.

The Collaboration Project Engineer must be able to plan, perform requirements gathering, specification, design, implementation, and solution turnover to the support teams. The attainment and maintenance of manufacturer certifications will be a requirement.

It will be imperative to stay current with technology trends, customer needs, and market demand to recommend, modify, and implement appropriate modifications to client environments and project deliverables.

When service escalation tasks are assigned, the Collaboration Project Engineer is expected to provide root cause analysis of client business-impacting events and provide workaround or resolution suggestions within a defined SLA.

Maintenance of the Aria platform, including proactive health checks, failover tests, and patching, will be required. The tasks can be assigned to other staff as it makes sense, but the overall plan will be the responsibility of the Collaboration Project Engineer.

Expertise of the Cisco Webex Calling platform will be required, including architecture, provisioning, and support within a multi-tenant deployment.

There may be instances where there will be project deliverables requested, which are outside the realm of Cisco Collaboration platforms. Ample time and instruction will be given to ensure successful delivery.

While the individual in this role will work primarily out of the Tekscape office, there will be times when there is an on-site requirement. This work may include collaboration device rollouts and troubleshooting, assisting end users with device issues, or performing hands-on troubleshooting for an issue or project deliverable. Some travel may be required. There will be a rotational on-call escalation schedule which the candidate will participate in as well.

It will be required for the Collaboration Project Engineer to aspire to perform SME-level duties, such as but not limited to: oversight of and contribution to Statement of Work documents and project calculators, establishment of best practice policies and Tekscape build standards within the Cisco Collaboration technology space, coaching and guidance to other staff, and adherence to Tekscape delivery and communication standards.
