Currently, our process of determining leads and conducting research depends on a highly manual process that is hampered by the limited set of functionality that is made available through various tools such as LinkedIn, other profession sites, etc. We will be creating separate modular tools to better obtain and normalize data from a variety of sources.
The goal of this project is to provide a web-based tool to interact with this data. Specifically, we need it to:
Offer a custom search tool that enables queries against existing structured data that weve ingested that conforms to a schema.
Allow an authenticated user to view and edit new results/leads by manipulating the data for a given record.
Merge information for new fields that match existing entities. These conflicts will have a specific value set in the normalized database. In the case of conflicting fields, there should be an option to review conflicts for a given entry and choose which data should be kept and what should be replaced.
Send specific new results to our CRM (Salesforce) while discarding others.
This tool will need to be able to be shared amongst multiple users, and the results need to be consistent regardless of the person conducting the search. We envision this as a standalone tool that can be accessed only by our employees, and so it should leverage Googles authentication for login so users can sign in with their existing G Suite accounts.
The tool should provide an interface for the construction of these queries via a rules engine. These compound searches will need to be able to be saved and structured in a documented fashion so that they can serve as parameters to automatically dictate the behavior of our data parsers.
We have a specified list of data points we will provide that we will need to search against and another for what we expect to be surfaced in the results.
