Developer needed for creating a responsive personal website

I am helping a friend of mine develop his personal website. He is professor of a reputed institute and an author. Many years back, he was a journalist and had written many articles.

The purpose of this website is to catalog all his writings: articles, journals, his upcoming book, photos, etc. In short a personal space for his creativity.

I have tried my best to write up a functional requirements document to help you have a better understanding. The examples of websites are only show as suggestions and represent the aesthetics he likes. YOU HAVE FULL CREATIVITY INDEPENDENCE.

In short, the website should have the WOW affect. It cannot be a regular looking site. It needs to be absolutely stunning in look, style, images and aesthetics.

Needless to say that the website needs to be responsive and work seamlessly across all devices (desktop, laptop and mobile devices).

I am also attaching few samples of content: articles, journals for your reference.

Its a pretty simple website but the focus should be on usability, user experience, aesthetics, looks and maintenance.

The development should be on Wordpress and it should be easy for him to maintain go forward. It should be easy for him to add new articles and journals.

The scope of the work includes following:

- End to end development and testing of the website
- Uploading -155 articles with appropriate metadata (all will be shared in word document; formatted and ready to go).
- Uploading -12-15 journals in PDF format.


Out of Scope

- Hosting and domain name: we will procure the same
- ongoing maintenance
